About us

AT JFOX MEDIATION & COACHING

For several decades, Dr. Fox-Petersen has been mediating, consulting, coaching, facilitating, and supporting individuals, couples, teens, families, parents, small groups, leaders and other influencers, organizations, businesses, and schools in conflict transformation, teaming, deep listening, compassionate witnessing, repairing harm to relationships, restorative approaches, and creating and restoring compassionate connections among her clients. She has spoken at conferences, conducted trainings and workshops, and facilitated groups across the country.

Additionally, Dr. Fox-Petersen practiced as a school psychologist for over 20 years with children, adolescents, parents, families, teachers and other school staff, leadership teams, and school organizations.

Over 10 years ago, she provided leadership and collaborated with colleagues to initiate restorative practices at West High School, Wichita, Kansas.

Due to significant gains and positive results through this pilot project, Wichita Public Schools began implementing restorative practices throughout the school district of 50,000 students.

Janet is a caring, compassionate, and warm professional with years of experience and expertise who enjoys working with people from all walks of life.

While her practices are not a panacea or magic, they often seem like it because they are research based; provide solace, comfort, care, and new patterns of behavior; and hope for creating a new life.

We conduct innovative workshops and provide psycho-educational training and tools based on two nationally recognized research organizations:  The Gottman Institute and the International Institute of Restorative Practices (IIRP). We meet with couples, individuals, parents, families, and organizations seeking to improve the quality of their relationships.

Coaching and teaching is provided in a non-judging, warm, accepting, compassionate, and confidential environment. While the services are often therapeutic, they are not therapy.

If there is significant unresolved trauma, struggles with addiction, self-harm ideation, severe mood difficulties, and other considerable mental health needs, clients may be provided a referral to a clinically licensed therapist.
